Tobias Reifland

Tobias Reifland (born 1994 in Stuttgart) discovered his passion for the viola already at the age of 7. His teachers include Samuel Mateescu, Andra Darzins, James Creitz and Lawrence Power. After he graduated with the Master of Music at the University of Music in Frankfurt, he finished his studies successfully in January 2020 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Roland Glassl and received the Certificate „Meisterklasse“.

Shortly after that he won the position as solo violist in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Tobias Reifland is winner of numerous national and international competitions. He was awarded with 1st prizes at the Max Rostal Competition 2019, Hindemith Competiton 2017 and International Anton Rubinstein Competition 2016.

Tobias Reifland got further musical impulses in numerous master classes with Atar Arad, Ettore Causa, Bruno Giuranna, Nobuko Imai, Maxim Rysanov, Lars Anders Tomter, Barbara Westphal and Tabea Zimmermann.

As a passionate chamber musician he was invited to the Aurora Chamber Music Festival in Sweden, Menuhin Festival and Verbier Festival in Switzerland and the Richard Strauss Festival. Tobias Reifland played concerts alongside esteemed artists such as the Morgenstern Trio, Fazil Say, Daniel Müller-Schott, Maximilian Hornung, Baiba Skride, Salvatore Accardo and Igor Levit. As a soloist he has performed with the State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate, Philharmonic Orchestra Bad Reichenhall, the Hamburger Camerata and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Since the Saison 2017/18 he holds a scholarship at the Villa Musica.
