Carla Usberti (20)

Carla Usberti, born in 2001 in Landshut, is a german-french Violist. She began to play the piano at the age of 3 and the Violin at 5. In 2015, she switched to Viola.

She took part in several competitions at „Jugend musiziert“ in different categories and won in 2017 the first prize at the „Bundeswettbewerb“ in the category piano solo, in 2019 also a first prize at the „Bundeswettbewerb“ in the category Viola Solo, as well as the „Sonderpreis des Kammerorchesters an der TU Darmstadt“ and a prize from the „deutsche Stiftung Musikleben“.

In 2017 she entered the International Carl-Filtsch Competition for piano solo in Sibiu (Romania) and won the second prize, the „Carl-Filtsch prize“ and the „Peter-Szaunig prize“.
In 2018, she was awarded the youth culture prize of the City of Landshut.

Carla Usberti gained orchestral experience as a violist in two youth orchestras, the „Festival Orchester der Nationen“ and the „Bayerische Landesjugendorchester“. Since 2020 she is a member of the „Junge Deutsche Philharmonie“.

In 2018-19 she took the „Jungstudium“ with Prof. Roland Glassl at the „Hochschule für Musik und Theater“ in Munich. In the same year, she was awarded a scholarship from the „Hildegard-Schmalzl“ Foundation in Regensburg. After graduating from high school in 2019 she began her Bachelor of Viola studies in the winter semester at the „Hochschule für Musik und Theater“ in Munich with Prof. Roland Glassl.

Since April 2021, she receives a scholarship from the „Münchener Musikverein“ and is a scholarship holder at „Villa Musica“.

She attended Master classes with Prof. Hariolf Schlichtig at the „Haus Marteau“.
